We welcome children, teenagers and adults, from complete beginners to returning players and people developing their existing skills. You can learn acoustic or electric guitar, bass guitar or ukulele. You do not need musical experience to get started.
The free taster lasts around 40 minutes. It is a chance to meet Bryn, explore the instrument and try making some music together. We’ll chat about what you enjoy and what you would like from lessons, then find a comfortable starting point. There is no obligation to continue and nothing to prepare beforehand.
It depends on the child, their interest and what feels manageable for them. Bryn has taught children as young as three and a half, but that does not mean every child is ready at that age. A taster helps us see how they respond and which instrument and lesson length might suit them. Early lessons can include musical games and exploring sounds.
Yes. Parents and carers are welcome to stay during the taster and regular studio lessons. You can see how your child learns and pick up ideas for helping at home. We can discuss what helps your child feel most comfortable.
There is no need to buy anything before the taster. Instruments are available to use at the studio during tasters and regular lessons, so you do not have to carry yours every time. Having access to an instrument at home helps you practise between lessons. If you would like advice before buying, send us what you are considering and we’ll help you choose something suitable.
